Analisis Keberlanjutan Lembaga Keuangan Mikro

Abstract

Micro Finance Institution (MFI) plays an important role in solving credit rationing of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Koperasi Baytul Ikhtiar (KBI) is one of the Indonesian’s MFI which has adopted Grameen Bank model. In 2009-2011, the growth of financing is 57 persen per year align with 37 persen per year growth of the number of member. However, the proportion of KBI equity capital decreased because of increasing liability. Due to the sustainability of institutional financing, it is important to analyze the KBI sustainability. The aims of this study are : (1) to describe KBI’s performance in financing SMEs, and (2) to analyze KBI sustainability with the institutional financing and member perspective. This study collected data from KBI and 40 member of KBI who are spread in Dramaga, Taman Sari, and Rumpin district. The results show that KBI is sustained in term of institutional and membership, but not in financial. The financial viability of KBI is still negative within this three years. And yet, financial sustainability is very important to support KBI long term sustainability. Due to that, it is suggested that: (1) to improve the efficiency of Tenaga Pendamping Lapang (TPL), (2) to increase financial plafond for qualified member, and (3) to seek the source of financial with low proportion of profit sharing.
