Pembentukan Modal: Sumber Pertumbuhan Sektor Pertanian di Indonesia
Abstract
Agricultural sector plays an important role in Indonesian economy. Its contribution to Gross National Product (GNP) in 2010 reached 15.13%, rank second after industrial sector (24.80%). The agricultural GNP growth tended to increase, ranging from 2.7 to 4.8 percent in 2005-2010, but it had a lower growth rate compared to other sectors. Beside labour and TFP, one of the important determinants in GNP growth is the capital formation. The aim of this research is to analyze the source of GNP growth and the role of capital formation in agricultural development. Secondary data from 1980-2008 were used. The result showed that capital formation, labour and TFP significantly affected the GNP growth of agricultural sector (3.4% per year). The share of capital formation in GNP growth was quite high, up to 125 percent. The capital growth reached 8 % per year, meanwhile labour was only 2.5% per year and TFP decreased 0.73% per year.
