Kajian Serbuk Sabut Kelapa (Cocopeat) sebagai Media Tana

Abstract

Cocopeat is a by product of the coconut’s processing and can be used as a planting medium. This research aims to know the effect of water storing ability of cocopeat used as planting media to the growth of forest’s trees. Water holding capacity of cocopeat is 695,4%. Cocopeat has a low dry bulk density of 0.08 g/cm3. Sengon and mahogany planted using cocopeat showing wilt for 25 days and 55 days dry spell, respectively
