Design of process and scale up of biosurfactant production by indigenous isolate of Bacillus sp. BMN 14 using molasses as substrate
Abstract
Biosurfactants are surface-surface agents that produced by microorganism. These compounds have specific characters and wide application, such as emulsifier, wetting, dispersion and cleaning agents. The utilization of biosurfactant in industry is very limited due to low yield and high cost of its production compared to synthetic surfactant. On the other side, biosurfactants have advantages, such as low toxicity, biodegradable and effective on a wide temperature, pH and salinityrange. In industrial application, it is also need a good design to scale up production using suitable parameter.
