      Abstract
Obesity has been becoming a global nutrition epidemic needing a serious concern. This research aimed to estimate the consumption of fat in adult and its relationship with the occurence of obesity in adult of Bogor rural and urban area. Several obesity risk factors were also analyzed in this research. This research was conducted by cross sectional design between June-September 2012. The number of samples in this research was 96 respondents from age 20-65, consisted of 48 samples from rural and 48 samples from urban area. The consumption data was obtained by questionnaire of Food Recall 2x24 hours. Based on the result, the average fat intake for samples in Bogor rural and urban area was 48.7 ± 19 gram/day and 48.8 ± 19 gram/day, respectively. Analysis of fat adequation level of samples showed that most of Rural samples was in excessive status of fat intake (35.4% of samples) while most of Urban samples was in adequate status of fat intake (35.4% of samples). There was no significant different both in fat intake or fat adequation level between Rural and Urban samples (p>0.05). However, pearson correlation test result showed that there was significant correlation (p<0.05) between fat intake and the case of obesity in samples, both in Rural and Urban areas. Besides fat intake, analysis of obesity risk factors by using Logistic Regression analysis resulted in two significant risk factors affecting obesity in samples. The risk factors were smoking status (p=0.005) and alcohol drinking status (p=0.009).
