      Abstract
      The objective of this study was to analyze fish consumption in Indonesia 2005–2011. The design of this study was the descriptive study. Data used in this study was secondary data based on national social and economic survey (SUSENAS). The study showed average national actual fish consumption 26,04 kg/capita/year, average rural actual fish consumption 25,69 kg/capita/year and average urban actual fish consumption 26,51 kg/capita/year. Average growth rate of national fish consumption is 0,05% per year. Average growth rate of rural fish consumption is -0,05% per year. Average growth rate of urban fish consumption is 0,37% per year. The group of fish that consumed the most is fresh fish (62%) and the less is cooked food (10%). Average national fresh fish consumption is 16,16 kg/capita/year. Average rural fresh fish consumption is 15,74 kg/capita/year. Average urban fresh fish consumption is 16,71 kg/capita/year. Fish consumption from prepared fish is higher in rural (32%) tahunan urban area. Average national prepared fish consumption is 7,25 kg/capita/year. Average rural prepared fish consumption is 8,30 kg/capita/year. Average urban prepared fish consumption is 6,39 kg/capita/year. Fish consumption from cooked food is higher in urban (14%) than rural area. Average national fish consumption from cooked food is 2,63 kg/capita/year. Average rural fish consumption from cooked food is 1,65 kg/capita/year. Average urban fish consumption from cooked food is 3,71 kg/capita/year. Low expenditure group consumed fish lower than high expenditure group. Ideal fish consumption is 32,7 kg/capita/ year or 12,9 gram protein/capita/day.The sufficiency of fish is projected 8,10 million tons at 2015.
