Test of Productivity of Soybean Lines in Mataram at Two Seasons

Abstract

Soybean with high yield, large seed size and short maturity are become consumer’s preference recently. Indonesia import two tons of soybean grain each year. The development of new varieties is one of the approach to increase the national production of soybean. We have developed several potential lines of soybean to be released as a new variety. The productivity of these lines has to be tested in several locations. The objective of this research was to study the productivity of six soybean lines and four national varieties as standard in Mataram in two seasons. The research was carried on by Randomized Block, with three block replications. The result showed that based on the seed production per plant, during two seasons all the lines tested had higher productivity than Anjasmoro variety. KH 55 and KH 71 were the potential lines to be released as new varieties with high productivity and bigger seed size.
