      Abstract
Polyculture system is one of aquaculture production system that maintained two commodity or more in one some container. To increase the seaweed Gracilaria sp. and tiger shrimp Penaeus monodon production can be applied with developing the polyculture system. The goal of research is to assess a capability of seaweed Gracilaria sp. to absorb ammonia, nitrite and nitrate as disposal of Penaeus monodon in polyculture system. The research used a randomized design, on the stocking density of Penaeus monodon within treatment 0, 8, 16 and 24 ind/0.27 m2. During the research, culture container weren’t replaced for ensure that the Peneaus monodon excretion weren’t wasted. The result show that the highest absorption of N (nitrogen disposal) on 16 ind/0,27 m2 with 0.266 (μmol/g)x103/days within daily growth rated 2.63 percent. On this treatment, that shown the high value of disposal absorbed equal within the seaweed growth rated. The result shown that, seaweed has ability to removed ammonia, nitrite and nitrate concentrations amount 61.08, 58.68 up to 62.04 percent. During conducted research, seaweed shown abilities to maintained the ammonia concentration amount 0.006-0.028 mg/L and the nitrate 0.001-0.012 mg/L which is a good condition and proper to tiger shrimp culture.
