Energy Analysis On Coal Steam Power Plant Pt. Energi Alamraya Semesta

Abstract

Coal fired power plant system is the most type of power plant which has been used by national electric company (PLN) to fulfilled national electricity supply and also to reduce the dependency on diesel power plant system. The aim of this study is to knows energy efficiency on coal steam power plant in PT. Energy Alamraya Semesta and to analize factors which has been influenced the main equipment on coal steam power plant. The result shows that the capacity of power plant is 15 MW by using bituminous coal with Gross Calorific Value (GCV) 3575 cal/g, but daily acctual production only 10 MW. Total energy needed by equipments to support the production system is 1.3 MW. The average efficiency of coal steam power plant in PT. Energi Alamraya Semesta during the month of April 2012 was 87% and total power plant efficiency is 18 %.
