      Abstract
The objective of this research was to analyse of big gun sprinkler used in Laju Perdana Indah (LPI) Company, Palembang. Water from water pond was pumped using water pums that it was driven by a motor diesel of 160 hp (119 kW). Two unit of big gun sprinkler were used in this research and tested on 3 different lateral distances, i.e. 100 m, 150 m and 200 m. When sprinkling performance tests were conducted using 2 nozzle size, i.e. 24 mm and 28 mm is diameter. During sprinkling, the performance analysis parameters are measured, i.e. working pressure, sprinkling discharge, and sprinkling radius. The performance measurement results were compared with SNI 7710-2011 of sprinkler performance requirements of high pressure spinning. The results showed that working pressure, sprinkling discharge, and sprinkling radius using nozzles of 24 mm and 28 mm were (536.26 ± 17.55) kPa and (497,95 ± 18,47) kPa, (56,16 ± 1,87) m3/h and (71,78 ± 4,28) m3/h, and (44,13 ± 3,73) m and (49.04 ± 2.6) m respectively. The results were suitable with SNI 7710-2011 of sprinkler performance requirements of high pressure spinning. Irrigation using nozzle of 24 mm causes water droplets split better and produce uniformity of watering 91%. This value is higher than uniformity by using a nozzle 28 mm which is only 83%, so the use of nozzle 24 mm more effective than 28 mm nozzle. Irrigation cost using nozzles of 24 mm and 28 mm were Rp 543.728/ha and Rp 425.701/ha respectively.
