Potensi Metabolik Buah Merah Terhadap Perbaikan Hematologi dan Organ Tikus yang Diinduksi Kuinin
Abstract
The aim of this research is to find out the influence of the red fruit extract (RFE) in the blood picture, liver and kidney of mice which induced quinine. Twenty five mice were divided into 5 groups; the groups are No (normal), the group K (quinine), the S1 (quinine and SBM 0,9 ml / kg BB/day), S2 groups (quinine and SBM 1,8 ml/ kg BB/day) and the S3 (only RFE dosage of 0,9 ml/kg BB/day). The blood sampling were done in the 0, 3rd, 7th, 10th, 14th, 17th, 20th, 23rd and 29th day. Nekropsi was done after the RFE was stopped. Liver and kidney organs were retrieved and processed into histopathology preparate with Haematoxylin-Eosin (HE) coloring. Histopathology examination was done for each group, by 20 observation of field perspective and the result were counted to get the average. Profile of blood does not change. Giving red fruit extract can increase the number of thrombocyte although statistically it was not significant (P>0,05). The damage of liver which caused by quinine, for instance hidropis degeneration, edema, and nekrosa were retarded by RFE treatment with dosage 0,9 ml/ kg BB/ day. The damage in kidney which caused by quinine (hidropis degeneration on tubuli cells, edema glomerulus, and the expansion lumen tubuli) was also retarded by the treatment. Degeneration of hidropis and nekrosa can expand in kidney with 1,8 ml/kg BB/day RFE.
