      Abstract
Cirata Reservoir is a reservoir used for fish farming activities using the floating net cage (KJA) located in the city of Cianjur, West Java. The number of cage that is at Cirata in 2009 as many as 51.418 units. The amount of feed into Cirata reach 8.000 tons/month, while the cultivation of waste generated reaches 5.880 tons/month which consists of 235,2 tons of nitrogen and 33,62 tons of phosphorus. Cultivation of waste coming into Cirata consists of organic and inorganic waste. Organic waste generated from aquaculture waste (faeces and feed that is not eaten), while the inorganic waste generated in the form of NH3 and H2S. Nitrogen and phosphorus in an aquatic cultivation metabolism of organisms derived from the results of cultivation, the remaining feed and microbial activity in the waters. Nitrogen and phosphorus are elements of the organism's body structure compiler, both are very important molecule as a composer of proteins and DNA. One way to control water quality due to cultivation of waste in the form of nitrogen and phosphorus is to use a filter feeder biota. Kijing taiwan Anadonta woodiana Lea including organism belonging filter feeder. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of the absorption of nitrogen and phosphorus waste waters by kijing taiwan Anadonta woodiana Lea. Based on the results, the effectiveness of the absorption of nitrogen and phosphorus in waters by kijing taiwan ineffective. This is evidenced by the low percentage of total nitrogen and phosphorus in the kijing taiwan.
