      Abstract
      The purpose of this study was to identify the characteristic of family and the association between mother and family characteristics, with weaning practices, infant feeding practices and nutritional status of children. The study design was a cross sectional study. Total sampel of the study were 58 children. Almost all children were born with enough birthweight and they had been given a feeding food when the age of them less than 6 month. The reason of their mothers giave them feeding food in ealier age are to make their babies calm. Almost all mother started to wean their children when their children become in 24 months. They did that because they think their children was already became a kid. The analysis by Spearman association between mother and family characteristic with weaning practices showed no significant association (p>0.05). The analysis between mother and family characteristic with nutritional status (W/A) showed significant association (p<0.05), but there is no significant association (p>0.05) between mother and family characteristic with nutritional status (H/A) and (W/A). The analysis between weaning practices and nutritional status showed no significant association (p>0.05).
