Pola asuh makan, Perkembangan Bahasa dan Kognitif pada Anak Balita Stunted dan Normal di Kelurahan Sumur Batu Bantar Gebang Bekasi
Abstract
The problem of protein energy inadequacy is an major problem among underfives that effects of child growth. The prevelance of stunted and severe stunted status among underfives in Indonesia in 2010 based on Height/Age (H/A) Index was 35.6 % (18.5% severe stunted and 17.1% stunted). The purpose of this study to identify the association between nutrition status and language and cognitive development of underfives also differences of language and cognitive development between stunted and normal childern. The study design was a cross-sectional study. Sample size was 70 children consisted of 35 normal and 35 stunted childern. The highest percentage level of education of fathers and mothers only primary school and more than half of children came from poor families. It was show that stunted childern had lower language and cognitive development than normal childern. There was significant difference (p<0.05) of language and cognitive development between normal (non-stunted) childern and stunted. Also there was significant difference (p<0.05) between age of childern, mother level of education and family income with language and cognitive development. Child care practices was no difference between stunted childeren and non-stunted childern. There was a significant association between nutrition status based on Height/Age with language development (p<0.05), but it was no association with cognitive developmentm (p>0.05).
