Folikel Kuning Telur dan Organ Dalam Puyuh yang Diberi Bungkil Biji Jarak Pagar (Jatropha curcas L.) Difermentasi Rhizopus oligosporus
Abstract
Jatropa curcas seed meal (JCSM) is by product of biofuels that contains high crude protein (24.6%). However, the utilization of JCSM as feed ingredient is limited by the presence of antinutrients factor, such as curcin and phorbolester. This antinutrients could interferes body protein synthesis. Detoxification is needed to optimize the meal utilization. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of feeding fermented JCSM using Rhizopus oligosporus on follicle and giblets of quails. The research used 150 of 9 weeks of age quails and were reared during 7 weeks. The treatment diets were BJ0 (diet without JCSM), BJ3 (diet containing 3% fermented JCSM), BJ6 (diet containing 6% fermented JCSM), BJ9 (diet containing 9% fermented JCSM), and BJ12 (diet containing 12% fermented JCSM). The parameters observed were follicle (quantity and weight), the weight percentage of giblets (liver, heart, gizzard, spleen, proventriculus, small intestine, colon, and ceca), and length percentage of intestine. This experiment used Completely Randomize Design with 5 treatments and 3 replications. The data were analysed using Analyses of Variance (ANOVA). The results showed that feeding fermented JCSM up to 12% significantly (P < 0.05) decreased the quantity of the follicle.
