Pengaruh Penambahan Berbagai Konsentrasi Kitosan Terhadap Mutu Agar Bak To Gracilaria sp.

Abstract

Bacto agar was a purified agar supports the general microbial growth. Chitosan is a long-chain glucose amine that able to absorb metal ions and impurities. Chitosan—may use to make bacto agar as an absorbent. The objective of the research was to know the effect of bacto agar addition to Gracilaria sp. bacto\agar. Raw material used in this research was marine algae Gracilaria jsp. Treatment combination used was 0.5, 1.0 and 1.5 % of chitosan added in dry weight. In general the quality of bacto agar in this research is in a range of commercial bacto agar. The addition of various concentration of chitosan enhances the quality of bacto agar from Gracilaria sp.
