      Abstract
The Ministry of Marine and Fisheries trying to increase shrimp production target in the period 2010 to 2014. But the eye ablation technique which is usually used for gonadal maturation acceleration of shrimp hampered by the issue of animal welfare, so that necessary to find other techniques to accelerate the maturity of the gonads shrimp. The aim of this research was to compare Effectiveness of Antidomine and Hormone GTH with eye ablation techniques in efforts to accelerate the maturity of gonads shrimp vanamei. This research was performed in May till June 2011 at the Brackishwater Aquaculture Development Center, Situbondo, East Java and Laboratory of Fish Health, Department of Aquaculture, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Bogor Agricultural University. Eye ablation done by cutting one of shrimp eye stalks, while the hormone used is given to the shrimp through feed that has been given additional adhesive to minimize the loss of hormones when in the water. The result showed the initial two weeks of maintenance has been found shrimp mature gonads from the hormone treatment, and the number continues to increase from 2 to 5 tail on the next two weeks. Gonad histology test showed the level of maturity gonadal hormone treatment shrimp had reached TKG III. The result of this research indicate that the hormones GTH and antidopamin able to influence the acceleration of gonadal maturation in shrimp vanamei
