      Abstract
The supply of tubifex worm captured from the nature which is usually used in fish hatchery is still insufficient since its demand is constantly growing. Therefore, tubifex worm culture is of importance to meet that demand. The different in biomass between initial and final culture of tubifex worm will consecutively need feed to sustain the growth. The aim of this research was to investigate the influence of cow dung addition to the growth rate of tubifex worm biomass. The worms used were dominantly from Tubificidae family. The feed was a mixture between cow dung and the sand (D < 1) with weight ratio of 3 : 1. The addition of cow dung (referred as feed) was carried out on a certain interval day until the total amount added into the system was 25.2 kg/m2. System of fluid flow used within this research was fluid-flow-through system with debit of discharge was 132 ml/min. As the result, the different amount of cow dung addition into the system (constant; 2-4 fold from intial weight) was found to be insignificantly different (P>0.05) to affect the growth rate of biomass at the end of culture. However, the sustained feed during the culture would conclusively affect the growth rate of tubifex worm biomass.
