Abstract

Jatropha curcas L. (physic nut or purging nut) is a drought-resistant shurb or tree belonging to the family Euphorbiaceae. The seed of physic nut is good source of oil were found to be toxic to mice, rats, calves, sheep, goats, human, and chickens. The problems in using jatropha curcas as feed are the antinutritive content and toxic compoends such as curcin, phorbolester, trypsin inhibitor, phytate, saponin, tannin and legtin.
