      Abstract
The research was conducted in several small lakes at Bogor regency and municipality. The objectives of this research was to identify species diversity, the biology of population and the environment characteristics of fresh water Unionidae mussels. The research found only two species, Anodonta woodiana dan Pilsbryconcha exilis which had similarity in the biological aspects of population. Both had highest density in the outlet ofthe lakes and the population dispersion were cluster, according to Morisita Index. Most of the A. woodiana population had medium to large sizes, specially population at the middle and outlet of the lakes. These morphometric sizes tend related to the high contents of DO, Ca, BOD, pH and sandy substrate. Most of the P. exilis population had medium sizes, specially population at the outlet of the lakes. These morphometric sizes tend related to the deep and clear water with high contents of TOM, COD and muddy substrate. In both species there were no tend of the obesity, relative height and reproduction condition to the environment characteristics. Part of the A. woodiana population (46,11%) found in first stadium of gravidity (no larvae inside) followed by fourth stadium of gravidity (brood mature larvae). Almost all of the P. exilis population (93,96%) found in first stadium of gravidity (no larvae inside).
