Ekstrak air undur-undur (Myrmelon sp.) sebagai hepatoprotektor tikus jantan sprague dawley yang diinduksi parasetamol

Abstract

Giving over doses paracetamol to animal can destroy liver cell. This matter is marked by increasing of alanin aminotransferase’s activity or ALT and aspartat aminotransferase or AST. One of alternatives to repair liver cell by giving undurundur’s extract in the correct dose. This research aims to determine optimal extract dose of undur-undur as antihepatotoksik by temulawak as control. The substance trusted has ability prevents oxidative damage so that can repair liver cell. Animal which has been induced by paracetamol during 14 day is given the undur-undur’s extract with dose 5 mg/kg, 10 mg/kg, and 15 mg/kg during 21 days. Taking sample blood conducted on day 0, 14, and 35. Activity AST and ALT has degradation after day 14 until day 35. Among third of the undur-undur’s extract dose, the biggest extract which can decrease activity of AST and ALT is dose 10 mg/kg body wight that is from 115,5 U/L become 85,5 U/L (25.97%) for ALT and from 184.75 U/L become 153.75 U/L (16.78%) for AST although not afford with analysis statistic (α=0.05).
