Abstract

Health insurance is an insurance product that guarantees health care costs for customers. One of the products is designed specifically for elderly (over 55 years). The elderly often get health problems, because of them often reduce human organs function. This will affect to the increasing claims of customers. Knowledge about the distribution of claims is very important for insurance companies. Kind of claims in this research is length of treatment. Furthermore to study the behavior of the claims may also be used as a model to predict the cost of insurance in the following years. The main purpose of this research is to estimate the costumers claims distribution of P.T. Asuransi Jiwa Bringin Jiwa Sejahtera, as an insurance company that held a special health insurance elderly. Another purpose is to analyze the relationship between groups of the elderly disease with the distribution length treatment of healthy insurance. The data used in the research is length treatment data which collected from 2002 until April 2010 by P.T. Asuransi Jiwa Bringin Jiwa Sejahtera. The length treatment was estimated by discrete, continuous and mixture distribution. The methods that used for test goodness of fit distributions such as quantile-quantile plot, Cramer-van Mises, and chi-square test. The result showed that the fit costumers claims distribution with 8 groups is mixture lognormal distribution.
