      Abstract
The development of bioremediation technology by slurry bioreactor can be applied for degradating ofpetroleum waste at sludge/sediment. The objective ofthis research are (1) to assess the optimum condition of diesel oil bioremediation process in slurry phase by treatment ofcontami'1ated level and total solid at laboratory scale (2) to develope the bioremediation process from the optimum result at laboratory scale. The research were conducted by two treatments ofthe total solid (10, 15, and 40%) and diesel oil contaminated level (5, 10, and 15%). The consortium ofbacteria applied are Pseudomonas pseudo mallei (PP), Enterobacter agglomerans (EA), and thp-consortium of bacteria derived from manure. The r.;;:spons of diesel oil degradation, pH, gas production and microbial growth observed by the Respons Surface Method (RSM). Soil contaminated by diesel oil can be treated in slurry bioreactor show that total sl)lid, contaminated level, and both interaction will influence positively towards the bacterial growth, pH, gases production, and decreased of TPH percentage. The hydrocarbon of diesel oil waste can reach an optimum level up to 85.290,4 TPH degradation at combination of 32.62% total solid treatment and 9.09% contaminated level. This optimum condition was applied at scale up experiment for 20 days show that slurry mixed homogenous, pH 6-8, optimum bacterial growth ?.!ld 9!.6% TPH degradation (from 13964 ppm to 1167 ppm), Ofthe microbial consortium observed are Pseudomonas pseudomallei, Enterobacter agglomerans, Klebsiella aerogenes, Pseudomonas putida, Sen'atia marcescens, Pseudomonas cepacia and Nocardia sp.
