Biodiesel is a promising alternative diesel fuel obtained from vegetable oils, animal fats, or waste oils by transesterifying the oil or fat with an alcohol such as methanol that able to be used directly or mixed with diesel oil. Aim ofthis research was to know properties and performance biodiesel from bintangur (alexandrian laurel) seed oil. Biodiesel was tested properties according to SNI 04-7182-2006. Test of performance and effect of biodiesel to machine used generator Kubota with technique data: 4 step type, sum of cylinder 1, displacement 443 cnl, compression 20:1, injection pressure 230 kg/cm2, nominal energy 7.5pK, The test indicated thai properties of biodiesel of Alexandrian laurel seeds oil meet the standard in term offlash point, water and sediment, cooper strip corrosion, sulfur content, phosphorus content, cetane number, total glycerol content, boiling viscosities, cloud point, residue carbon and ash sulfated (meet SNI04-7182-2006). The performance test indicated that the consumption of biodizsel-solar mixture from 0% to 30% biodiesel (liter/hour) are not different but thz consumption level increased when the biodiesel conscntration more than 30%. This increased was due to the imperfect combustion, this indicated by the deposit in the cylinder head andpiston.
