The Effect of Taro (Colocasis esculenta (L.) Schott) Leaf Meal in the Diets on Broiler Chicken Performances.
Abstract
This research was conducted to determine the effect of taro leaf meal on the broiler chicken peeformance as termed of feed consumption, body weight gain, feed convention, final body weight and mortality. Research was carried out at Poultry Nutrition Laboratory, Faculty of Animal Science, Bogor Aglicultural University, from April to Juni 2002 and the chemical analyzes was carried out at Biochemistry and Enzymatic Laboratory, Balitbio, Bogor. One hundred and twenty of days old chick of Hubbard strain broiler were divided into four treatment and three replication (ten chickens for each replication). The diet consisted of four treatment: RO (0 % taro leat), R5 (5 % taro leat), RIO (10% taro leat) and R 15 (15 % taro leaf).
