      Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of financial literacy and financial technology (fintech) usage on the long-term financial readiness of Generation Z in DKI Jakarta. Although Generation Z demonstrates relatively good financial literacy, a substantial gap remains compared to their high financial inclusion, particularly through the use of e-wallets and paylater services. Data were collected from 220 respondents aged 20–29 through an online survey and analyzed using descriptive statistics and Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results indicate that both financial literacy and fintech usage contribute positively and significantly to long-term financial readiness. Furthermore, fintech acts as a mediating variable that strengthens the relationship between financial literacy and financial preparedness. These findings underscore the urgency of contextual and integrated financial education strategies to bridge the gap between access (inclusion) and understanding (literacy), thereby preventing unsustainable financial behavior among young people.
