      Abstract
Upaya meningkatkan fluiditas membran dapat dilakukan secara in vitro ataupun in vivo.

The increase in livestock productivity is influenced by three aspects, namely the feed used, husbandry and reproduction. Livestock can be bred naturally or by artificial insemination. Artificial insemination can use fresh semen, liquid semen or frozen semen. When semen is frozen, the plasma membrane of the spermatozoa is damaged. The fluidity of the plasma membrane of spermatozoa must therefore be improved so that it is not so easily damaged during freezing. Efforts to improve membrane fluidity can be carried out in vitro or in vivo. This study examines the efforts that have been made to improve the fluidity of the plasma membrane of sperm in vivo to increase the quality of frozen semen. This investigation was conducted non-experimentally using 16 national and international journals that were evaluated with a focus on nutrients in feed supplements to improve the quality of the spermatozoa plasma membrane of farm animals. The results of the analysis showed that most studies using supplementation as a source of unsaturated fatty acids had higher levels and fluidity of the sperm membrane than using supplementation with cholesterol or complex carbohydrates such as trehalose. This may be since the omega-3 fatty acid content may protect the spermatozoa plasma membrane from mechanical damage due to changes in the cellular environment and membrane flexibility. This study concludes that supplementing animal feed with unsaturated fatty acids (omega 3 and omega 6) can increase spermatozoa membrane fluidity and result in better quality frozen semen.
