      Abstract

Denisoni fish (Puntius denisonii) is an endemic fish from India which is widely traded because of the unique color of its body. The large market demand in Indonesia makes denisoni fish are widely cultivated in Indonesia. However, productivity is still low due to the low stocking density used. This research aims to analyze the optimal stocking density in denisoni fish nurseries with higher stocking density and 60% air change through a study of production performance and business performance. This research used an aquarium measuring 2,0×0,5×0,3m3. There were three treatments used, namely stocking density of 2 fish L-1 (A), 3 fish L-1 (B), and 4 fish L-1(C) with three replications in each treatments. Fish stocking size with an initial average weight of 0,15 ± 0,02 g and an initial average length of 1,72 ± 0,09 cm. The fish were maintained for 35 days by feeding them using silk worms (Oligochaeta aquatic). Water quality management is carried out by changing the air by 60% twice a week. The results obtained showed that the best productivity occurred in the stocking density treatment of 4 L-1, namely 37.827 ekor m3 year-1 with a profit of IDR 575.831.829, HPP of IDR 781, R/C ratio of 1,87, and PP of 0,34 years or 4 months 5 days. Keywords: aquaculture, denisoni, productivity, profitability, stocking density
