      Abstract

Indonesia's fisheries and marine sector still contributes a small percentage to the GDP. Seaweed is a key commodity with a significant contribution to this sector, but Indonesia is overly reliant on China as an export destination. South Korea has the potential to become a major market for Indonesian seaweed exports. This research aimed to analyze the trade performance, comparative advantage, competitive advantage, and provide recommendations to increase the competitiveness of Indonesian seaweed exports in South Korea. The analysis covers the period from 2018 to 2022, using ISP, RCA, EPD, and Porter's Diamond models. The results indicate that Indonesian seaweed exports are performing well and are at a maturity stage, with strong comparative and competitive advantages, making South Korea an ideal market. Recommendations focus on enhancing competitive advantage by improving competitiveness in production factors, demand conditions, related and supporting industry conditions, and structural and competitive conditions.
