      Hematological and Histopathological Organs Studies on Quinine Induced Rat as Metabolic Potential Test of Angkak.

      Abstract
      This research was purposed to analyze potency of angkak on hematological parameters and organs recovery in quinine induced rat. Rats were randomly divided into five groups. Group I were given orally aquades, group II received 100 g/kg bb quinine 14 day afterward not received angkak, group III received 100 g/kg bb quinine 14 day afterward received 0.04 g/kg bb angkak 14 day, group IV received 100 g/kg bb quinine afterward received 0.08 g/kg bb angkak, and group V not received quinine afterward received 0.04 g/kg bb angkak. Hematology analysis measured every 3 day. At 29 th day, the rats were necropsied to see the lesion on the liver and kidney both macroscopically and microscopically. The treatment with angkak can increasing the body weight of the rats (p<0.05). Analysis result of platelet showed that treatment using 0.04 g/kg bb angkak able to increase the sum of platelets (p<0.05). The treatment using angkak have not demonstrated significantly effect on red blood cell, hemoglobin, and hematocrit (p>005). Observation histopathology of the test animals liver and kidney showed the treatment using 0.04 g/kg bb and 0.08 g/kg bb angkak was confirmed helping the liver and kidney to recover from histopathology lesion caused negative effect. Statistical analysis result showed that recover using angkak is differently significant.
