The objectives of this research were to find out information on both body measurement and potencies of swamp buffalo at Cibadak subdistrict in Lebak District and Cisata subdistricts in Pandeglang Districts. Thi research was carried out from September to November, 2008. A total number of swamp buffloes observed were 220 hd both female and male of those from Cibadak and Cisata district were 79 hd and 141 hd respectively. Various body measurement observed were body length, round chest, chest depth, shoulder height and hip height. Mean and standar deviation of individual body measurement of swamp buffalo within location were calculated by descriptive analyses, while mean differences between two location were tested by t-test. The result showed that all body measurement of swamp buffalo in Cisata were very significantly higher (P<0,01) than those in Cibadak Subdistrict. Measurements of both shoulder height and hip height of male buffalo at the age of 1-3 mo in Cisata were significantly higher (P<0,05) than those in Cibadak. Measurements of round chest and chest depth of female buffalo at the ages of 12-15 mo and 2-3 yr in Cisata were higher (P<0,05) than those in Cibadak, while hip heights at the ages of 12-15 mo and >4 yr of female buffalo in Cisata were significantly higher (P<0,05) than those in Cibadak. Generally all body measurements of swamp buffalo, both male and female in Cisata Subdistrict were higher than those in Cibadak Subdistrict. This was supposed due to management feeding in Cisata better than in Cibadak.
