Pola Aktivitas, Konsumsi Pangan, Status Gizi Dan Kesehatan Anak Jalanan Di Kota Bandung
Abstract
The general objective of this research was to know and analyze the correlation of pattern activity, food consumption, nutritional status and health of street children. The research design was cross sectional study. This research was part of project research Socio-economics and Environmental Factors Contributing to The Health and Nutritional Status of Street Children. Data was collected on February 2009 in Bandung, West Java. Street children was chosen by purposive sampling from eight NGOs in Bandung. Street children criteria were: 1) 5-18 years old 2) boys and girls 3) spend time in the street at least four hours in a day 4) work for a living in the street, commonly work as singers, beggars, shoe-polisher, porters etc. The result showed that most street children activity was singers, spend 4-8 hours in a day and 4-6 days in a week. The average energy and protein adequacy level of street children was light deficit category, iron and vitamin C in low category and vitamin A in sufficient category. Almost street children have normal nutritional and health status and good personal hygiene. There is no correlation between activity and duration of street children with nutrition adequacy level. There is no correlation between personal hygiene and nutritional status with health status.
