      Abstract

This research aims to study the fermentation characteristics of Rhizopus sp. on soybean media with different Zn mineral doses and fermentation days. This study was conducted using a factorial completely randomized design with 4 replications. Factor A is the Zn mineral doses (ppm), namely 0, 400, 800, 1200, and 1600. Factor B is the length of fermentation days, namely 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4. Parameters tested were the mycelium development, decreased biomass, DM, OM, ash content, and pH of the media. Data were analyzed using ANOVA and significantly different treatments would be further tested with Duncan's Test using SAS or IBM SPSS 25 program. The results showed that treatment of Zn dose ≥800 ppm significantly (P<0.01) inhibited mycelium development at the first day fermentation. The increase in Zn dose treatment significantly (P<0.05) decreased the pH and significantly (P<0.01) increased the ash content of the media, while the length fermentation treatment significantly (P<0.01) increased the pH and decreased the biomass, DM, OM, and ashes content of the media. Treatment of the Zn doses and length of fermentation days had an effect on the effectiveness of Rhizopus sp. on soybean media.
