      Abstract
      Obesity is now considered as a major public health problem, affecting both developed and developing countries. Recently, central obesity has greater health hazards than overall obesity. The aim of this research is to analyze risk factors of central obesity among adults in North Sulawesi, Gorontalo, and Jakarta. This research used secondary data of Riskesdas 2007, Department of Health. The criterias of the study location was the province that had the three highest prevalence of central obesity. The total samples was 26 561 subjects aged 15 years. A logistic regressions was used to analyze risk factors of central obesity. Results showed that risk factors of central obesity in North Sulawesi are aged 35, women, married, divorce/widowed, high school, housewife, military/police/civil servants, private business officers, entrepreneur/private servant, urban area, and hard inactivity. Risk factors of central obesity in Gorontalo are aged 35, women, married, divorce/widowed, housewife, military/police/civil servants, entrepreneur/ private servant, expenditure 20 tile, urban area, hard inactivity, and mental disorder. Risk factors of central obesity in Jakarta are aged 35, women, married, divorce/widowed, housewife, private business officers, entrepreneur/private servant , expenditure fifth quintile , former smoker, fatty food, and mental disorder. Sweet food is the factor that reduce of central obesity in Jakarta. Women is more likely having central obesity in thirth provinces.
