      Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of adding cellulase enzymes with different levels to the silage of rice straw and palm fronds that has been processed through the Fiber Cracking Technology process. The design used was a factorial completely randomized design, namely material factors (rice straw and palm fronds) and the level of addition of the cellulase enzyme (0; 1; 2; 3% kg-1) with 4 replications. The data obtained were analyzed using ANOVA variance and if there was a significant effect, further tested with Duncan's test. The addition of the cellulase enzyme and the interaction between the ingredients and the addition of the cellulase enzyme had no significant effect on rumen pH, KcBK, KcBO, ammonia concentration, and total VFA, but had a significant effect (P<0,05) on silage pH. The conclusion of this research is that the silage of rice straw and palm fronds has bad characteristics. The addition of cellulase enzymes with different levels did not improve the quality of the silage of rice straw and palm fronds.
