      Uji Performansi Pengeringan Heat Pump Kompresi Uap Tipe Rak pada Kunyit ( Curcuma domestica val.)

      Abstract
      Pengeringan adalah metode pengawetan produk yang bertujuan untuk mengurangi kandungan air didalam bahan sampai pada tingkat tertentu dimana kerusakan akibat reaksi kimia dan bakteri pembusuk dapat diminimalisasi. Sistem heat pump kompresi uap (HPKU) memiliki kemampuan dehumidifikasi udara yang dapat digunakan untuk pengeringan yang memiliki efisiensi yang tinggi dan kualitas produk hasil pengeringan lebih baik dibandingkan pengering udara panas konvensional. Uji kinerja dilakukan dengan menganalisis COP, Waktu pengeringan, Specific Thermal Energy Consumption (STEC), Specific Moisture Extraction Rate Thermal (SMERT) dan Specific Moisture Extraction Rate Total (SMERTotal) untuk pengeringan kunyit hingga kadar air mencapai 8-10 %bb. Pengujian dilakukan dengan tiga tingkat laju aliran udara yaitu 0,096 kg/s; 0,119 kg/s dan 0,143 kg/s. Hasil pengujian pengeringan kunyit dengan HPKU membutuhkan waktu pengeringan 12-17 jam, COP heat pump 4,21-4,38, STEC 3,95-4,33 MJ/kg, SMERT 0,83-0,91 kg/kWh dan SMERTotal 0,43-0,56 kg/kWh. Peningkatan laju aliran mempengaruhi peningkatan nilai COP, SMERT, SMERTotal dan mempercepat waktu pengeringan, peningkatan laju aliran berbanding terbalik dengan penurunan nilai STEC.
       
      Drying is a product preservation method that aims to reduce the moisture content in the material to a certain level where damage due to chemical reactions and putrefactive bacteria can be minimized. The Vapor Compression Heat Pump System (VCHP) has air dehumidifying capability that can be used for drying which has high efficiency and better product quality than conventional hot air dryers. The performance test is carried out by analyzing COP, drying time, Specific Thermal Energy Consumption (STEC), Specific Moisture Extraction Rate Thermal (SMERT) and Specific Moisture Extraction Rate Total (SMERTotal) for drying turmeric until the moisture content reaches 8-10% bb. The test was carried out with three levels of air flow rates, namely 0,096 kg/s; 0,119 kg/s and 0,143 kg/s. The results showed that the drying time was 12-17 hours, and the other performance parameters were: COP heat pump 4,21-4,38, STEC 3,95-4,33 MJ / kg, SMERT 0,83-0,91 kg / kwh and SMERTotal 0,43-0,56 kg / kwh. The increase in flow rate affects the increase in COP, SMERT, SMERTotal values and accelerates the drying time, the increase in flow rate is inversely proportional to the decrease in the STEC value.
