| Abstract: | Bos javanicus d’Alton 1823 (banteng) is a rare and threatened species in the world. In Indonesia, it was conserve in some place, i.e: Baluran National Park. This research investigated the affected factors and effects of Acacia nilotica Wild ex. Dell 1813 invasion on the pattern of banteng movement in Bekol Savanna, Baluran National Park by built the correlation of conservation variable. The objective of the research is to build a conservation model of banteng. This is done by simulating the dynamic model consists of green forage and the effect of Acacia nilotica invasion to determine the carrying capacity in savanna Bekol. Field research began in August through to October 2005 at Bekol Savanna, Baluran National Park, East Java. A system dynamic approach was used since it has demonstrated its capability as a tool to support management for environmental decision. The model is built using software by Powersim Constructur 2.5 to make a prediction about the future behaviour of banteng conservation system. Results revealed that banteng in Bekol Savanna are responsed of movement space and the growth of Acacia nilotica reduced the movement space and forage productivity of Bekol savanna. Based on the simulated model, it was concluded that Acacia nilotica invasion has changed the structure of banteng habitat this resulted in the decrease population of banteng in Bekol savanna. |
