Abstract : The effects of surfactant anionic sodium dodecyl sulphate (SDS) on the performance of cellulose acetate (CA) – polystyrene (PS) membranes nanofiltration were evaluated. The membrane prepared via immersion precipitation system. The morphology and performance of prepared membranes were studied by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and separation experiments using pure water and salt as feed. The obtained results indicate that the addition of surfactant in casting solution increases the porosity of membranes layer, enhance pure water flux and water permeation.id
