Karakteristik pemekatan karotenoid minyak sawit dengan teknik fluida CO[2] superkritik

Abstract

Pemekatan karotenoid dari minyak sawit mentah dilakukan dengan beberapa tahap perlakuan awal dan untuk proses pemekatan digunakan teknik ekstraksi fluida CO₂ superkritik. Produk penelitian ini diharapkan merupakan suatu konsentrat karotenoid yang aman dan dapat digunakan sebagai nutrifikan produk pangan ataupun sumber provitamin A alami.

The objective this research was to obtain the characteristics of concentration process of carotenoid from palm oil using a supercritical CO[2] extraction technique. The output of this study is important in order to provide basic information necessary for scaling-up and further commercialization of the concentration process. Furthermore, this research also explorer the possibility of creating safe caretenoid concentrate derived from natural resources, i.e. palm oil (Elaeis guineensis, Jacq).
