dc.description.abstractCultivation of tomatoes was more done in the lowlands. Yieldscomponents and adaptation characters focused to produce a new superior tomato varieties in the lowlands. It was developed by conventional and non conventional breeding (irradiation of gamma rays). The objectives was to study performance of qualitative, quantitative characters in M3 to M0populations, and heritability values. The experiments were performed at Leuwikopo field research IPB, Darmaga (197 m asl) in July and October 2015. The genetic materialsare 12 populations M3 tomatoesresults of gamma ray irradiation dose 495 Gy and 6 populations M0. Fruit length, total fruit weight, and weight per fruit characters in M3 population were signicifantly different to M0 population. Varians components, broad sense heritability and coefficient diversity is thought to support the selection of yields component. Fruit length, fruit diameter, total fruit weight, fruit weight, total dissolved solids, and the percentage of fruit cracking based on fruit weight in all population of M3 tomatoes have a high heritability so the selection can be efective to do. Some of qualitative fruit characters in M3 was different to M0 population, such us fruit shape, fruit end type and ripening fruit colour.id
