One type of orchid that has been recognized by the public for its beauty is Phalaenopsis amabilis or better known as moth orchids. Two type of Phal. amabilis found in the Indonesian market were indigenous species and imported hybrids. Colchicines used as chromosomes doubling in several plants to produced new varieties. This research aimed to evaluate the growth of colchicines treated plants. This research was conducted at Bogor Agricultural University, Bogor, Indonesia from September 2014 to June 2015. Colchicines treatment applied on castrated flower and then selfed, and on flower buds. Similar growth observed on the plants in the nursery. Different ploidy levels observed on castrated flower treated with colchicines and the selfed, 8 diploid plants, and 2 tetraploid plants, and flower buds treated with colchicines, 15 diploid plants, 5 triploid plants, and 3 tetraploid plants.id
