| dc.description.abstract | Methods to estimate potential fishing ground play an important role in fishing activities. Therefore, the application of appropriate methods and the right location is needed to support the success of fishing. This study aimed to estimate and mapping the potential fishing area in the Palabuhanratu bay and its surroundings. Potential fishing ground was estimated by spatial analysis on waters parameters, which were chemical and physical parameters, such as chlorophyll-a, dissolved oxygen, current, temperature and salinity using hydrodynamic-ecosystem models. Results showed that throughout the year fishing ground are quite dynamic, when West Monsoon (December-February) and Transitional Season 1 (March-May) the high potential fishing ground located around the coast. While in East Monsoon (June-August) and Transitional Season 2 (September-November) almost all area were medium potential fishing ground until high potential fishing ground. | id |
