dc.description.abstractSurface waves are phenomenon encountered at the sea surface. The bi-directional propagation of long waves in shallow water could be described mathematically in the form of the fourth order of the Boussinesq equations. F-expansion methods are modified to solve the fourth order of the Boussinesq equations. In this method, the fourth order of the Boussinesq equations is transformed into a nonlinear ordinary differential equation and its solution is assumed in the form of travelling waves. The results obtained using extended F-expansion methods are exact solutions expressed by Jacobi elliptic function, hyperbolic function, and trigonometric function and they are described graphically.id
