Pengaruh faktor lingkungan terhadap durasi perilaku harian bekantan di PT Indexim Utama, Kalimantan Tengah

Abstract

Existence of Proboscis monkey (Nasalis larvatus) as an endangered species in a forest production area becomes an important issue due to the balance of species conservation effort and the exploitation aspect of the area management. The knowledge of environmental factors influence on the daily behavior duration of proboscis monkey which are ingestive, rest, and locomotive behavior is needed to identify the significant factors to the life of proboscis monkey. The duration of ingestive behavior is significantly influenced by the diameter of Shorea sp, Heritiera sp, Falcataria moluccana, and Dryobalanops spp. The duration of rest behavior is significantly influenced by the diameter of Shorea sp and Ficus gibbosa. The duration of locomotive behavior significantly influenced by Elateriospermum tapos and Pterospermum javanica. Time allocation for ingestive, rest, and locomotive behavior are directly proportional to the diameter of the influencing tree species.
