Evaluasi Usaha Peternakan Ulat Tepung (Tenebrio Molitor) Di Desa Cisalada, Kecamatan Cigombong, Kabupaten Bogor

Abstract

Mealworm (Tenebrio molitor) breeding is a promising business, butthe success of this business still affected by internal and external factors. The purpose of this research was to evaluate a failure mealworm business in Cisalada village, Cigombong sub-district, Bogor. The research was conducted from Septemberto November 2014. Data include were internal and external factors for IFE-EFE analysis. IE analysiswas used to identify business position while SWOT analysisformulated alternative strategies for this business. The failure caused by business weakness, especially in lack of capital and rearing management. Before the failure, this business was in growth and build position(quadrant II). Suggested strategies were to maintain mealworm quality and marketability, market improve, strengthen the group, negotiation skills improve, build partnership, technical efficiency improve, and develop mealworm byproduct.
