dc.description.abstractThe high demand for corn in Indonesia resulted to increasing of corn seed needed. The research was aimed to study the storability period and vigor of hybrid corn seeds. The study was conducted in two experiment i.e accelarated aging experiment using chemical method with etanol 96% and drought stress experiments on corn seeds vigor using Polyethylene glycol 6000. This experiment was arranged in randomize complete block design (RCBD) in two factors that is15 hybrid corn varieties (Pertiwi-3, Bima Super, NK 33, DK 85, Bionix 09, BISI 18, P 21, BISI 2, BISI 816, DK 95, DK 77, Pertiwi 2, DK 979, NK 6326 dan BISI 222) and level of seed treatment. Four level of etanol 96% soak period i.e. 0,15,30 and 45 minutes was arranged as first experiment for seed storability treatment. Four level of osmotic potential i.e. 0, -1, -1.25 and -1.5 bar was arranged as treatment in seed vigor experiment. Based on germination percentage (DB), velocity of growth (KCT), vigor index (IV), and dry weight of normal seedlings (BKKN) the variety which has high storability period (VDS) are Pertiwi 2 and BISI 816 seed. Through seed vigor experiment, Pertiwi 3, BISI 18, DK 77, DK 85, DK 979 and DK 95 variety elucidated highest result in germination percentage (DB), speed of germination (KCT), vigor index (IV), dry weight of normal seedlings (BKKN) and length of radicles.en
