T. Toba Pulp Lestari, Tbk. is a pulp and paper company, which produces two kind of pulps : Dissolving Kraft Pulp (DKP) and Bleached Kraft Pulp (BKP), using pulpwood and chemicals. A proper inventory control policy is then needed to maintain optimum level of chemicals in inventory. Four lot sizing techniques such as LFL, EOQ, LUC, and LTC were used to analyze the company’s inventory control policy of chemicals for the period 2012-2013 and the results were then compared with the company’s method. Monthly pulp production for the year 2014 was forecasted based on monthly pulp production data for the period 2012-2013. Chemicals that are needed were then derived from forecasted pulp production using the company’s SOP. In 2012, the company’s method gave inventory cost 14,8% higher than inventory costs calculated by LTC, LUC, and LFL techniques. This was due to large ending inventory caused by safety stock. If company would dicipline maintain optimum level of safety stock, its inventory cost is almost the same with that inventory cost calculated by those three techniques above.en
