Abstract: | The increasing amounts of plastic wastes generate enormous environmental problems. The pyrolysis can potentially be used to convert plastics into valuable chemicals and fuels. Almost all of the pyrolysis experiments conducted in laboratory condition, and the heat transfer is not investigated. The objectives of this study were to design temperature profile model using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and analyze its temperature distribution. Reactor was designed as an experimental set-up. For performance test, temperature was maintained in 5 difference level with 3 hours of production process. The result showed that the highest fuel yield produced from 450 pyrolysis temperature with 21.32 g of fuel yield. Each level of temperature degrees have almost similar temperature distribution pattern with temperature decreased vertically to the top of reactor. The result showed that validation using CFD simulation was approaching the value of temperature measurement on reactor. |
