dc.description.abstract | West Misool District is one of the Marine Protected Areas in Raja Ampat,wherein Sasi is found. The purpose of the study was to determine and analyze the performance of Sasi as a model of community-based marine conservation management, and to analyze the external and internal factors affecting it. The methods used in this research, are using quantitative and qualitative approaches. The results showed that Sasi in marine conservation areas has been effectively practiced compared to the government based conservation management. Marine Protected Areas policies should not be separated from Sasi, and the community has an important role in the management of marine resources, supported by religous leaders, traditional leaders, community leaders, and NGOs. Furthermore, the sustainability performance of marine conservation area can be categorized as “Good”. | en |
