dc.description.abstractConventionally the role of forestry sector can be proxied by the contribution of that sector to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). 17% of the Tasikmalaya district areas are forest land. The result showed the contribution of forestry sector to regional gross domestic product ranged from 4.39% to 4.98%. The forestry sector is a basic sector as indicated by LQ value of 2.80 to 3.05 and has a multiplier effect value of 13.315 in 2012. The SWOT analysis showed the forestry sector should use its strengths to capture opportunities. In order of importance, policy that are needed : Collaborative and Community Forest Management (CBFM and CM), Ecotourism development (PE), Rehabilitation of critical lands, and Strengthening forest products industry.en
